Background

Our journey: The growth of Serenity Family Care

Established in 2007, Serenity Family Care has grown into a renowned boutique care home that prioritizes the needs and comfort of each resident. Our humble beginnings have shaped our approach to care, ensuring an intimate, family-oriented experience in a cozy, home-like setting.

Our home comprises two buildings – one licensed for assisted living and another dedicated to independent living. The assisted living building houses a maximum of six residents, allowing us to maintain a high staff-to-resident ratio and deliver personalized care.

As we continue to expand our footprint, we’re excited about the construction of six additional buildings for assisted living. This expansion reaffirms our commitment to providing high-quality care and services to more seniors in our community while still preserving the intimate, family-like atmosphere that sets Serenity apart.

Mission Statement:

To provide a safe, nurturing, and loving home environment where residents are treated with dignity and respect, and their physical, emotional, and social needs are met with compassion and excellence. History

How We Started: Danny & Martha’s Story

Serenity Family Care was opened in 2007. The operation started with 6 ambulatory beds, initially serving 6 residents within the Hickory community. In 2012, Danny and Martha built an additional non-ambulatory six-bed unit allowing for an independent living opportunity for the surrounding community.

Martha Foster was a long-time healthcare worker, and Danny Foster had a background in business. Due to this, they complimented one another, with their strengths and knowledge, to run a smooth operation caring for the community. Their mission in their operation was to serve others and be a place the community could call home.

Over the years, Martha and Danny have met and cared for many people in the community. Serenity Family Care Home is sought after due to Danny and Martha’s empathy and compassion for those they served.

After many years of service, Danny and Martha decided to retire in hopes of living out their remaining years, experiencing a relaxing and leisurely lifestyle, and focusing on their quality of life. However, Serenity Family Care Home will always remain close to their heart.
